Ghungroo Dance Company (GDC) is a non-competitive, fusion-dance team at UIUC that focuses on four main styles of dancing: Bollywood, Classical, Hip-Hop, and Bhangra. The biggest highlight of our team is our very own show which we host at the end of every school year. Throughout the year, we have several external performances and social events designed to help our members get to know one another. We are open to anyone who is interested in dance, regardless of ethnicity or age. No previous dance experience is required, and time commitment per week depends on how many dances you choose. If you're looking to make memorable experiences in college, GDC is the place to be!
We are taking a lot of precautions this year due to Covid-19, including online tryouts. Depending on the outcome of cases at uiuc, we will change our plan accordingly. For now, we are planning on having in person or online practices for our show in March. We are also planning different social events that can be held virtually.
